Lance Armstrong is riding in the Tour of California with the team Avanta.  The Tour of California is the largest professional cycling race in america, it was founded in 2005.  the race starts in Sacraemento and ends in Escondido, a 750 mile course with 8 stages.  For Lance, the TOC is just a warm up for Tour De France, which is the biggest cycling race in the world.

He's back!  Lance is back, after four years of retirement he has been reintroduced into professional cycling.  I think this is a definite shock to the cycling community.  Nobody expected that he would be coming back for another Tour De France.  It takes some real gut to be gone for four years then suddenly decide to enter the most grueling bike race in the world for his eighth win.
